Jullian Brevard is an Assistant State’s Attorney with the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. Jullian joined the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office in 2003. In 2009, Jullian was appointed to the position of Juvenile Justice Specialist within the Office’s Juvenile Delinquency Division. In this role, Jullian handles complex juvenile cases, advises other State’s Attorneys on how to effectively prosecute complex juvenile matters, and conducts trainings on issues relating to juvenile prosecution.

Jullian began his career with Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office as a Law Clerk in the Criminal Appeals Division. In 2004, Jullian was promoted to Assistant State’s Attorney. As an Assistant State’s Attorney, Jullian has worked within the Office’s Felony Review, Child Protection, and First Municipal Community Prosecution Divisions. In First Municipal, Jullian prosecuted individuals accused of misdemeanor crimes in Chicago. In the Child Protection Division, Jullian prosecuted individuals accused of abusing or neglecting their children. As an ASA in felony review, Jullian advised police officers and detectives on legal issues regarding felony investigations as well as participated in victim sensitive interviews with adolescent victims of sexual abuse. Prior to joining the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, Jullian worked as an intern with the Prince George’s County State’s Attorney’s Office (Upper Marlboro, Maryland) and the Office of the Attorney General (Washington, DC).

Jullian is President of the Chicago Chapter of the National Black Prosecutors Association. Jullian is also a member of the Juvenile Prosecutors Leadership Network, the American Bar Association, and the Cook County Juvenile Court Balanced and Restorative Justice Committee. In addition to prosecuting juvenile cases, Jullian has also created diversion programs in conjunction with the Cook County Juvenile Probation Department and coordinated community outreach programs through the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office, the National Black Prosecutors Association, and the American Bar Association.

Jullian received his Juris Doctor from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts in History from Hampton University.
